Chenab and Ravi Rivers Still Battling ‘Very High’ Flood Levels

Floodwaters continue to surge in Punjab’s major rivers, with the Flood Forecasting Division reporting “very high” flood levels at key points on the Chenab and Ravi.

According to data last updated at 2pm, Chiniot Headworks on the Chenab and Balloki and Sidhnai on the Ravi remain under severe pressure. Water outflows at Balloki were noted to be increasing, while flows at Sidhnai showed a gradual decline.

Meanwhile, Panjnad Headworks, where the Sutlej merges with the Chenab, is still experiencing a “high” flood situation, with water outflows exceeding 300,000 cusecs.

At Ganda Singh Wala on the Sutlej, conditions remain critical, with the site facing an “exceptionally high” flood as over 310,000 cusecs of water continues to surge downstream.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as rivers carry massive inflows, raising concerns about further flooding in adjoining districts.
