ISLAMABAD:
The United Kingdom has announced an additional £1.2 million for anticipatory flood response efforts in Sindh, raising its total humanitarian assistance to Pakistan this year to £2.53 million, according to a statement from the British High Commission on Thursday.
The funding will prioritize early warning systems, community evacuations, identifying vulnerable households, pre-positioning essential supplies, livestock protection, and preparing evacuation centres, the statement said.
This comes after the UK unveiled a £1.33 million package on August 22, which supported early response and relief in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
