The management of a private school in Karachi has been charged with manslaughter after a 25-year-old employee allegedly took his own life by jumping from the eighth floor of the building on September 1.
According to the FIR filed at Brigade police station by the victim’s brother, the young man had left home for work at 8:15am. Less than an hour later, the family was informed that his health had deteriorated, and he was being rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
When the complainant arrived at the hospital, school staff told him that his brother had fallen from the eighth floor around 8:45am. Sadly, he found him dead in the emergency ward.
Later, it was revealed that the victim had left a social media post naming three men whom he accused of “mentally torturing” him. The family alleged that this psychological pressure pushed him to end his life and demanded legal action against those named.
Police registered the case under Sections 34 and 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed confirmed that the cause of death was injury to thoraco-abdominal organs. She reported multiple fractures, heavy internal bleeding, and lacerated wounds on the back. Samples were collected to rule out intoxication.
