London – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has accused India of verbally breaching the ceasefire agreement, warning that Pakistan will respond firmly to any provocation.
Speaking to journalists during his visit to the United Kingdom, Dar said Pakistan remains committed to peace, but will not compromise on its dignity and security. “Peace will continue from our side, but if India casts a hostile eye, we will answer with a stone for a brick,” he remarked, underscoring that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation that wishes to live in harmony with its neighbors.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted improving ties with regional countries, noting that both Afghanistan and Iran had shown positive gestures toward Pakistan. “Iran has acknowledged Pakistan as a genuine friend,” he said, terming it an encouraging development for regional cooperation.
On the domestic front, Dar stated that the 26th Constitutional Amendment was being absorbed effectively and ruled out the need for a 27th amendment. He added that the economy was showing stability, while reforms such as land digitalization and integration of the passport production system were yielding results.
He further revealed that a proposal to develop Mirpur Airport on the model of Sialkot Airport was under consideration, assuring that land acquisition for the project would be initiated. Addressing overseas Pakistanis, Dar emphasized that the government was actively working to resolve their long-standing issues, particularly related to passports and consular services.
