A New Challenge for Pakistanis: Weekly Inflation Rate Sees an Increase!

Rising inflation has added to the difficulties of the public in Pakistan. According to the latest statistics, the country’s weekly inflation rate has increased by 0.05%.

The State of Inflation

According to figures released by the Bureau of Statistics, the annual inflation rate was recorded at 1.73%. Last week, 12 items became mehangi, while the prices of 12 items decreased, and the prices of 27 items remained stable.

Which Items Became Mehangi?

The items whose prices have increased are:

  • Onions: 16.53%
  • Tomatoes: 10.17%
  • Chicken: 4.12%
  • Lentils (Masoor)
  • Tea
  • Fresh Milk
  • Diesel
  • Cigarettes
  • Wood

Which Items’ Prices Decreased?

The good news is that the prices of some items have also decreased. These include:

  • Bananas
  • Lentils (Moong)
  • Lentils (Maash)
  • Potatoes
  • Sugar
  • Garlic
  • Rice
  • Flour
  • LPG
  • Petrol

Price of Sugar in Major Cities

In Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, sugar is being sold for up to Rs. 173 per kg.

These statistics show that the prices of daily necessities in the country continue to fluctuate, increasing the burden on the average citizen. The government needs to pay attention to this issue so that the public can get some relief.
