Food, Agriculture Exhibition Kicks Off at Karachi Expo Centre Today

KARACHI: Pakistan’s biggest food and agriculture trade event of the year, the 3rd International Food and Agriculture Exhibition (FoodAg 2025), opens today at the Expo Centre Karachi, bringing together hundreds of local exporters and a record number of global buyers.

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan will formally inaugurate the three-day exhibition, which runs from November 25 to 27 under the theme “Harvesting Innovation, Cultivating Sustainability.”

More than 350 leading Pakistani exporters are participating this year, showcasing a diverse range of the country’s signature products — from premium Basmati rice and Himalayan pink salt to dehydrated mangoes, kinnows, dates, seafood, halal meat, spices, dairy items and other value-added foods.

The event is set to host over 800 pre-qualified international buyers from more than 80 countries, marking the largest delegation ever invited to Pakistan for a single trade exhibition — a milestone officials describe as a major boost for the country’s export ambitions.

In a message issued ahead of the inauguration, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan said Pakistan’s unique agro-climatic diversity and the government’s market-opening initiatives are helping reposition the country from a bulk producer to a competitive branded supplier in global markets.
“FoodAg 2025, with such a significant gathering of serious international buyers, is clear evidence that our strategy is yielding results,” he remarked.

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive Faiz Ahmad said the exhibition aims to showcase Pakistan’s “abundant harvest” and its commitment to supplying the world reliably and sustainably.
“We are not just hosting an exhibition — we are opening Pakistan’s doors to global markets. Even in the toughest years, Pakistan never restricted food exports,” he said. “With thousands of pre-scheduled B2B meetings over the next three days, we expect business generation to surpass USD 1 billion, creating jobs and long-term partnerships that will strengthen the agriculture sector.”

The record-setting buyer list includes major importers from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, the Middle East, GCC states, Europe, Africa, Australia, Canada, the United States and Russia. Buyers from Asia alone number more than 300, led by major Chinese state-owned and private companies.

Alongside the exhibition, the event will host nine high-level conferences on sustainability and traceability, as well as a vibrant Pakistan Cuisine Pavilion, where 21 celebrity chefs from five continents will prepare live dishes using exclusively Pakistani ingredients.

Officials expect FoodAg 2025 to close with export deals exceeding USD 1 billion, reinforcing Pakistan’s position as a key food supplier in global markets.
