Trump Says Israel Has Agreed to Terms for 60-Day Gaza Ceasefire, Urges Hamas to Accept Deal

Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Israel has agreed to the core conditions required to finalize a proposed 60-day ceasefire in Gaza — a development that could mark a significant step toward halting the months-long conflict in the region.

Taking to his social media platform, Trump stated, “Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War.”

The ceasefire proposal, which involves coordinated mediation efforts from Qatar and Egypt, aims to create a temporary halt in hostilities while negotiators work toward a broader peace framework. Both Qatar and Egypt have played key roles in past truce negotiations between Israel and Hamas.

Trump praised the efforts of the mediators, saying, “The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal.”

He also directed a firm message toward Hamas, urging the group to accept the terms. “I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” Trump warned.

While no official confirmation has yet come from Israeli or Hamas officials regarding the finalized terms, Trump’s statement suggests that backchannel talks are at an advanced stage, raising cautious hopes for a temporary reprieve in the conflict.

The development comes amid mounting international pressure to end the violence in Gaza, which has caused a devastating humanitarian crisis and triggered widespread condemnation around the world.

Analysts view the proposed ceasefire as a critical window — not just for immediate relief, but as a test of whether long-term diplomacy can take root in one of the world’s most intractable conflicts.
