KASUR/MULTAN — Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday visited the flood-affected regions of Kasur and Jahanian Pirwala to assess ongoing relief efforts and review the scale of devastation caused by the recent monsoon floods, according to the military’s media wing.
During the visit, the Army Chief underscored the importance of close coordination between civil authorities and the armed forces to ensure more effective disaster management. He emphasized that strong governance, timely planning, and rapid infrastructure development are vital to safeguarding communities from future disasters.
Field Marshal Munir also met with families displaced by the floods, listening to their grievances and assuring them of the Army’s continued support in their rehabilitation. His personal engagement with the victims highlighted the military’s commitment not only to immediate relief but also to long-term recovery measures aimed at restoring normal life in the hardest-hit areas.
Commending the relentless efforts of Pakistan Army personnel, Rescue 1122 teams, and the police, the Army Chief praised their bravery and dedication in delivering relief under difficult conditions, ensuring that affected families received timely assistance.
As part of his tour, Munir conducted an aerial survey of the flood-stricken districts to gain a broader understanding of the damage and the scope of aid required. He reiterated that the Pakistan Army stands firmly with the people in times of crisis and remains dedicated to public welfare and disaster response.
