KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a significant jump on Thursday, following upward trends in the international market.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola soared by Rs. 8,300, reaching Rs. 443,062. Meanwhile, the rate for 10 grams of gold climbed by Rs. 7,116, settling at Rs. 379,854.
The previous day had seen a minor decline, with the price per tola dipping by Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 434,762.
On the global front, gold also gained momentum, trading at $4,207 per ounce (including a $20 premium), reflecting an increase of $83 during the day.
Silver prices in Pakistan followed a similar trend, rising by Rs. 228 per tola to Rs. 5,662, showing a steady upward movement in precious metals across the local market.
Analysts attribute the sharp increase to international market gains, rising investor demand, and global economic factors influencing commodity prices.
