Former Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has been entrusted with a significant new role inside the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), strengthening his involvement in the country’s player-development structure.
According to sources within the board, Sarfraz has been assigned overall responsibility for both the Pakistan Shaheens and the Pakistan Under-19 teams. In this new position, he will oversee team affairs, monitor coaching staff, and provide strategic guidance throughout domestic and international assignments.
Sarfraz is also expected to travel with the squads on their overseas tours, allowing him to directly observe training sessions, match preparations, and player development. His recent wicketkeeping clinic at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) conducted just days earlier for U19 players reflects his growing commitment to grooming young talent.
With this appointment, Sarfraz becomes a central figure in Pakistan’s youth cricket pathway, combining his on-field expertise with broader management responsibilities aimed at strengthening the next generation of national cricketers.
