PM Shehbaz Sharif Sets Off for Azerbaijan to Attend Victory Day Celebrations

ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif departed for Baku on Friday on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan, where he will participate in the 5th anniversary celebrations of the country’s Victory Day. The visit comes at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Accompanying the Prime Minister is Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar. During the visit, both leaders are expected to engage in high-level discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities for cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, defence, education, and regional connectivity.

Officials say the visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its brotherly ties with Azerbaijan a relationship built on shared values, mutual respect, and close collaboration at regional and international forums.

Analysts believe the trip will help further solidify Pakistan’s strategic and economic partnership with Azerbaijan, while also reaffirming Islamabad’s continued support for Baku’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
