‘Pakistan is a Valuable Asset for the Muslim Ummah,’ Says Iranian Parliament Speaker

TEHRAN — Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has described Pakistan as a “valuable and significant asset” for the entire Muslim Ummah, emphasizing the deep-rooted friendship and shared vision between the two neighboring nations.

Speaking during a meeting with a Pakistani parliamentary delegation in Tehran, Ghalibaf praised the strong cultural, historical, and religious ties that have long connected Iran and Pakistan. He said these bonds form the foundation of mutual respect and cooperation, making the relationship between the two countries both unique and enduring.

The Iranian speaker noted that the connection between Iran and Pakistan extends far beyond politics it is strengthened by the closeness of their people and the shared values that unite them. He highlighted Pakistan’s consistent efforts to promote peace, stability, and unity across the Muslim world, saying that its role in supporting the causes of Muslim nations has always been commendable.

Ghalibaf further said that Pakistan’s regional influence allows it to play a constructive and positive role in resolving disputes and fostering dialogue among Muslim countries. He stressed that in today’s world where many Islamic nations are grappling with political and security challenges unity, understanding, and collective action are more essential than ever.

Both sides agreed that closer cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad is vital to protecting the interests of the broader Muslim community. Ghalibaf suggested expanding collaboration through stronger parliamentary engagement, enhanced people-to-people exchanges, and greater economic connectivity.

The Pakistani delegation, in response, expressed appreciation for Iran’s hospitality and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties. Both delegations agreed that deepening relations between Iran and Pakistan would not only serve their national interests but also contribute to peace and solidarity within the wider Muslim Ummah.
