Karachi, November 15, 2025: Mega Motor Company (MMC), the official partner of BYD in Pakistan, has entered a landmark collaboration with the Karachi Marathon 2026, marking the country’s first World Athletics–Certified marathon. The partnership positions MMC as an official sponsor, supporting athletes, promoting mobility initiatives, and elevating Pakistan’s presence in the global sports arena.
The signing ceremony took place at BYD Pakistan’s Karachi Experience Center, attended by senior officials from MMC, BYD, and the marathon organizing committee. Cricket legend Misbah-ul-Haq was a special guest, symbolizing determination and national pride qualities central to the marathon.
Under the partnership, the BYD SHARK 6 will serve as the official “timer car,” leading runners from the start line and demonstrating BYD’s commitment to innovation, precision, and smart mobility. The marathon, Pakistan’s largest international road race, is expected to attract thousands of local and international athletes and aligns with Vision 2032, which aims to enable Pakistani runners to qualify for major global marathons and the Olympics.
Speaking at the event, Danish Khaliq, Vice President Sales & Strategy at MMC, emphasized that the company’s vision goes beyond mobility, focusing on building sustainable and strong communities. MMC will sponsor two top marathon athletes for international participation ahead of the 2026 race, underlining its commitment to health, performance, and sports development.
BYD Pakistan Country Manager Lei Jian highlighted that the marathon reflects endurance, unity, and positive energy values that mirror BYD’s mission to foster sustainable and healthier communities. MMC and BYD will work closely with the Karachi Marathon team on joint awareness campaigns and promotional activities leading up to the 2026 race, continuing their efforts to promote national sports and local talent following the brand’s engagement with the HBL PSL.
