LAHORE — Karachi Range emerged victorious at the Sindh Police Games hockey tournament, defeating Training Centre 3–2 in a thrilling final held at the KHA Ground on Sunday.
The match saw Karachi Range take an early lead in the 10th minute through SI M Arsalan, followed by two crucial goals from M Faheem in the 23rd and 49th minutes. Training Centre fought back with goals from Syed Shoaib Shah in the 14th minute and Saad Mehnaj in the 27th minute, but it wasn’t enough to overturn Karachi Range’s dominance. R.R.F secured third place in the tournament.
The closing ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including DIG Traffic Syed Peer Muhammad Shah, former DIGP Commander Shaukat Ali Shah, SSP Syed Ali Raza, Commissioner Karachi’s Director Sports Ghulam Muhammad Khan, and Olympians Nasir Ali, Farhat Khan, Iftikhar Syed, Arif Bhopali, Dr. S.A. Majid, and Mohsin Ali Khan. Organising Committee Chairman Syed Ejazuddin, along with Syed Sarfarazuddin and other notable personalities, were also present.
During the ceremony, DIG Peer Muhammad Shah distributed prizes to the players, while Director Sports Ghulam Muhammad Khan announced performance awards on behalf of the Commissioner Karachi for Syed Ejazuddin and Syed Sarfarazuddin for successfully organizing the tournament. SP Saeed Arain, Secretary Sindh Police Sports Board, was also honored with the prestigious Benazir Bhutto Gold Medal.
