Karachi Police Constable Caught Among Smugglers in Major Rangers Operation

Karachi, September 12, 2025 — In a startling revelation, a suspended police constable was among six alleged smugglers arrested by Rangers during a major operation on Maripur Road.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, the raid led to the recovery of 528 kilograms of cannabis, valued in the millions. Authorities also seized three cars, a motorcycle, and fake number plates used in the smuggling network.

In addition, Rangers confiscated six mobile phones and cash from the suspects. The arrested men, including the former police officer, have since been handed over to the police for further investigation.

Officials said the case highlights the disturbing involvement of law enforcement insiders in organized crime, further underlining the scale of Karachi’s smuggling networks.
