KARACHI — Two people were killed in separate road accidents in different parts of Karachi late Monday night, according to rescue officials and police.
In the first incident, a speeding dumper truck fatally struck a pedestrian on Nishtar Road in the Ram Swami area. The victim died instantly at the scene. Enraged residents gathered at the site, staging a protest and later setting the dumper on fire. Police and rescue teams rushed to the area to control the situation and moved the body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
In another tragic accident, an unidentified vehicle hit a motorcycle near Tanky Stop in Malir Khokhrapar, killing one person on the spot. Police and rescue workers shifted the body to Jinnah Hospital. Authorities said the victim’s identity has not yet been established, while an investigation into both accidents is underway.
