KARACHI — The four-day Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference (PIMEC) 2025 opened its doors at the Expo Centre Karachi on Monday, bringing together global and local maritime stakeholders to explore opportunities within Pakistan’s growing Blue Economy.
Addressing a media briefing ahead of the event, Commander Karachi Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi underscored the importance of the exhibition and conference in highlighting Pakistan’s maritime potential. He said the expo aims to strengthen collaboration between industry leaders, government bodies, and international partners to promote sustainable economic development through the country’s vast marine resources.
Vice Admiral Abbasi shared that this year’s PIMEC has drawn an impressive lineup of 178 exhibitors including 28 international and 150 local participants along with 133 delegates from 44 countries. “The response has been overwhelming, reflecting the world’s growing confidence in Pakistan’s maritime future,” he said.
The event will feature Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings, MoU signings, and a high-profile International Maritime Conference focusing on ‘Harnessing Blue Economy: Potential for Sustainable Development’.
The expo aims not only to showcase Pakistan’s naval capabilities and maritime industries but also to foster dialogue on sustainability, innovation, and global cooperation within the maritime domain.
