Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori Donates Five Months’ Salary for Flood Relief

Karachi, August 29, 2025: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori has pledged to donate five months of his salary to support families devastated by recent floods across the province.

Announcing the decision on Friday, the governor said his contribution was a small effort to stand alongside those enduring immense hardship. “In these testing times, I will stand with the flood victims in every possible way and ensure that all available resources are directed towards their relief,” Tesori said.

He further revealed that a special cell is being established at the Governor’s House to coordinate relief efforts. According to him, trucks loaded with food and essential supplies will soon be dispatched to the worst-affected districts.

This is not the first time Tesori has raised alarm over the crisis. Earlier, he had urged the federal government to convene an all-parties conference (APC) to address the nationwide flood emergency. He stressed that political differences must be set aside to find long-term solutions, including expanding water reservoirs and moving forward with the construction of major dams. “Pakistan is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change, and with heavier rains expected next year, decisive action cannot be delayed,” he warned.

The governor also appealed to Karachi’s traders and citizens to extend their support to flood victims in Punjab. He announced that two trucks carrying relief supplies would soon be sent to the province as part of the ongoing assistance campaign.
