KARACHI: Karachi’s women-only Pink Bus Service is set to roll out a new route from Abdullah Chowk to Numaish starting November 17, 2025, with dedicated travel timings aimed at making commuting safer and more convenient for women.
Provincial Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced on Saturday that the buses will operate at three specific time slots: 8am–9am, 1pm–2pm, and 5pm–7pm. The service, exclusively for women, prioritizes their comfort and safety during travel in the bustling city.
“This initiative will help reduce the daily travel challenges women face in Karachi,” the minister said. He added that the buses will be equipped with security personnel, tracking systems, and trained staff, with plans to expand the service to additional routes in the future.
The Pink Bus service, which gained popularity after the addition of 18 new buses last year, offers rides at a fare of Rs50, with free travel for girls under five. The government emphasized that reliable and safe commuting options will allow women to pursue education and careers more efficiently.
Minister Sharjeel also highlighted the upcoming second phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme, aimed at further empowering women in Karachi through safe and independent mobility.
