KARACHI: Residents of Defence Housing Authority and several adjoining neighbourhoods are set to endure a full day without gas supply on Monday as the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) carries out urgent pipeline work.

According to an announcement by the utility, crews began rerouting a 24-inch diameter pipeline late Sunday night. The work, which SSGC says is essential for system improvement, is expected to continue through the day and conclude by Monday evening.

As a result, gas supply will remain suspended in all DHA phases, Clifton’s Blocks 3, 5, and 6, as well as Defence View, Akhtar Colony, Azam Basti, and Qayyumabad. The company estimates that supply will be restored around 10pm on Monday.
