‘Dead Chicken Meat’ Seized in Karachi: Two Arrested in Moosa Colony Raid

KARACHI – In a disturbing revelation, police and officials from the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) uncovered a large quantity of dead chicken meat during a joint raid in Karachi’s Moosa Colony on Sunday.

According to initial reports, the seized stock weighing around 80 kilograms was allegedly being supplied to various food outlets, including biryani centres, restaurants, and local eateries across the city.

Police said the operation was launched after a tip-off about a warehouse storing expired poultry. Acting swiftly, a team from the Gulberg Police Station, accompanied by SFA officers, raided the location and caught two suspects red-handed while they were preparing to distribute the contaminated meat to different areas of Karachi.

An FIR has been registered against the accused, and authorities have begun an in-depth investigation to identify other individuals or networks involved in the illegal trade.

Officials described the discovery as a serious public health concern, warning that such practices could have severe consequences for unsuspecting consumers. The SFA has pledged to intensify its inspections across the city to prevent similar incidents in the future.
