Air Karachi Takes Off as Pakistan’s Newest Private Airline

KARACHI, October 31, 2025:
A new chapter in Pakistan’s aviation history began today as Air Karachi officially took flight with a grand launch ceremony held at Karachi’s Old Airport. The event marked a proud moment for the city, celebrating Karachi’s long-awaited return to the country’s aviation map.

The airline, founded by 42 business partners, was born out of a shared vision to revive Karachi’s legacy as the heart of Pakistan’s aviation industry. Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Hanif Gohar recalled his journey that began in 2006 when he first applied for an airline license. Nearly two decades later, his dream has finally become a reality.

“This is not just the launch of an airline it’s the realization of a dream and a promise to the people of Pakistan,” said Gohar. “Our goal is to reconnect cities, create jobs, and open new opportunities for those who believe in Pakistan’s potential.”

The event was attended by Defence Secretary Muhammad Ali, who served as the chief guest. He praised the efforts of Karachi’s business community, commending their commitment to national growth and their confidence in the future of Pakistan’s economy.

“Projects like Air Karachi represent the private sector’s growing strength and its crucial role in building a stronger Pakistan,” he said, adding that the government will extend full support to help Air Karachi and other private airlines expand.

He emphasized that a robust aviation sector is vital for improving tourism, trade, and employment, noting that private investment in this space signals a positive shift in Pakistan’s economic direction.

With this launch, Karachi has reclaimed its status as a vital aviation hub, and Air Karachi is positioning itself as a symbol of resilience, ambition, and progress not just for the city, but for the entire nation.
